![]() ![]() This will make them stop targeting you for a little while. However, you can get an upgrade for the Sea Truck that lets you shock them, which will greatly reduce the amount of damage received. That’s not the case in BZ, but if they see or get near you, they will attack. I also didn’t enjoy having to try to be quiet in certain areas with the Cyclops as it could attract Leviathans. It was frustrating in Subnautica when using the Cyclops and bumping into things, just like it is in BZ with the Sea Truck, although you can repair them easily with a repair tool (which was made easier in BZ). I found all of them useful, except the Sleeper module, which I didn’t build. However, the Sea Truck has modules you can craft, connect, and disconnect easily. I liked the Sea Moth and Cyclops submarine in Subnautica, so initially (during Early Access) I was disappointed that these were missing. It also has some new things such as a Sea Truck and Spy Penglings, among others. Just like Subnautica, you’ll find there are different biomes, so it’s not all wintry. BZ is essentially Subnautica, just with more of an Arctic-like setting. I stopped playing it after a while as I decided to wait until the completed version was released. I bought BZ pretty much as soon as it was released into Early Access on Steam. If you liked Subnautica, you'll probably like BZ. There are different game modes, so these things are optional. So, you’ll spend your time mostly underwater and you have to be aware of your oxygen level (along with food, thirst, and temperature, since BZ has frozen areas). These games take place in an underwater environment, the planets are mostly made of an ocean with very little landmass. There is a bit of a scary element, too, as there are huge creatures called Leviathans that are definitely scary as they will attack you and your vehicles. While you can craft things like base pieces and tools, you obtain these recipes by finding the items or fragments of them in the game and scanning them with your scanner tool. If you haven't played Subnautica, it may interest you if you like games that include survival, crafting, and exploring (probably the kind of game that has most interested me for quite awhile now). Since I just finished Subnautica: Below Zero (BZ), I thought I’d give both of them a review here. This one is a gem.I noticed that I didn’t write a review for Subnautica. Overall, Stranded Deep is by far one of the chiller, funner Indie survival games to come out recently (besides the glorious and dark, The Forest) I recommend really giving this a shot if you like chill, Indie survival adventure games. I hope that issue will soon be patched up. I don't really have that issue with other online multiplayer games. My small main complaint is how much it seems to crash on me when playing multiplayer mode (optionable). There's always a lot to do and some sea monster bosses to fight as well. Sure, it's repetitive (you have to eat, drink, sleep etc.) but once you get the hang of things there's something really charming and chill. With each new update it really improves a bunch and I can't wait to see what else will come with it. ![]() I really got sucked into this one for a while and still play often, from time to time. While there isn't much of a story here, aside from an anonymous character is involved in a plane crash over the ocean ending up stranded on a deserted island, the survivor aspects of the game make it a fun and a very replayable game. I loved listening to the sounds of rain and the muted subtle background music. This game is great to play when wanting to unwind, everything is fairly simple after you get the basics down. I'm glad another reviewer pointed this aspect out as well, exactly my thoughts. I found the island isolation to be peaceful and relaxing, even with all the surviving to be done. When I first downloaded it I was expecting it to be kinda cheesy and unenjoyable, not something I would really like as much as I did, but seriously it was pretty fun and also very chill. There's really a lot going for this game despite how simple it might appear off the bat. STRANDED DEEP was a great little survival adventure gem of a game that I found recently. ![]()
